Occupy As Occupation (2)

Sergeant-Captain of the Surface Traffic Control Unit (STACU), 191st Administrative Detachment/302nd Wasteland Reconnaissance.

This soldier's left arm has been removed, whether through mishap or surgical procedure, and subsequently replaced with a robotic steel armature as a traditional symbol of his authority. This ferine practice, while uncommon, endures still amongst a select of the Kalkovac officer corps. It is thought to originate in an ancient custom of cavalry officers tying the reins around their left hands before the charge.

In the background is a Baboon variant ChA5 Command Vehicle, almost certainly framing this pict in the period of the Tesoro Obviation, mid to late-800s.

Service: One

An Attendant Mechanic (Grade III) lugs his substantial kit past an Ibex-variant ChA Armored Transport.

The Ibex, though reliable, was not favored by crews because design issues with the suspension system made it an extremely uncomfortable for the crew and passengers in uneven terrain. Although records show that a total of 280 Ibex-variant ChAs were deployed between 875 and 930, the majority of these vehicles were parted out or converted to ancillary use.

Dragoon, Part 2

Mounted Scout-Skirmisher wearing steel greaves traditional to the cavalry of his home planet, Kalkovac. These artifacts are probably centuries old, but antiquated customs are rarely informed by the practical considerations of extended off-planet deployment.

Note the Sparrow type-V combat rifle.
