Better than the 76's. Intended to be a replacement, mass manufactured way to fast with no quality control. Sure, no funny taste, right up to the point you choked on your own vomit or worse: at least the 71's worked, even if they tasted funny and cost and arm and a leg, rather that than the outsourced 'improved' cheaper ones that replaced them.
...And that guy is not a scientist, look at the way he's rigged his kit, the way he's holding that military grade firearm. He might be on a scientific expedition, but he's a soldier. At least, he was once.
I always hated the Type 71 Rebreather filters, that plastic licorice taste of the air...
